RC Toulonnais are raising funds in support of Tonga!

Last month, the Hunga Tonga–Hunga Ha‘apai volcano erupted in the South Pacific Kingdom of Tonga, generating dangerous ashfall and triggering a tsunami that affected almost the entirety of the local population. With the island nation looking to recover, sport clubs and athletes from around the world are coming together to raise funds in support of the Tongan people as they rebuild their lives!

Following the natural disaster, Tonga was left cut off from the rest of the world for several days, making it difficult for expatriates to contact their loved ones on the islands. Now that the volcanic ash has partially settled, the country has started receiving international aid, with clean drinking water and basic living supplies being a priority. Joining the cause is also RC Toulonnais and Tonga National Rugby Team player, Sonatane Takulua. With the support of several other athletes, the Tongan International is donating some of his most prized rugby shirts in an attempt to raise funds for the affected communities.

From one of South Africa’s greatest talents, Eben Etzebeth, to one of France’s rising stars in the face of Jean-Baptiste Gros, this incredible collection includes one-of-a-kind shirts by some of rugby’s biggest names. Each of these exclusive items symbolises a unique piece of rugby history and you now have the chance to make one of them your own! The valuable memorabilias are now open for bids on our platform with the proceeds going towards helping the Tongan population get back to their normal lives.
