Flying Through the Group Stages

The Dutch national team have lived up to the expectations and have gained access to the round of 16. The team has made fans proud not only thanks to their performances, but also thanks to the worn and signed shirts that they had the opportunity to own. The proceeds from the auction were also dedicated towards the topical matter of worker rights. The team now faces the round of 16 game with World Cup winning aspirations.

The Oranje have proven to the world that they are one of the contenders in this year’s World Cup and have also shown that they effectively have one of the strongest defences, conceding only once in all three group stage games.

One aspect that will make the Oranje fans excited is that the KNVB and all the players of the Dutch national team have decided to auction all of their worn and signed shirts. Nearly €200,000 have already been raised, and with the advancement in the tournament of the mighty Oranje, this is sure to keep increasing.

One of the players which has been polarising the media and catching the most attention from global media, is the attacker Cody Gakpo, who opened the scoring for the Netherlands in the game against Qatar, making him the first player in this edition of the World Cup to score in three consecutive games. This was not the only record that the 23-year-old set, in fact he also became the first player in Oranje history to score in his first three World Cup matches. Gakpo also is currently level with Dutch legend Johan Cruyff in his World Cup goal tally, with both having three goals each to their name in the tournament. Gakpo is also impressing outside of the World Cup competition, having more goal contributions than Erling Halaand with 30 against Man City star’s 26. If you want to be the proud owner of one of Gakpo’s worn and signed shirts, or of other Dutch national team players, head to the Oranje auction team page.

The Oranje are now looking forward to their first elimination game against the United States, which, with a win, would give them access to the quarter finals and it would also give the chance to fans around the world to become owners of another very special Oranje World Cup worn and signed shirt.
