The Poppy - a symbol of hope and remembrance!

Premier League and EFL clubs have once again come together to express their solidarity and support towards the Royal British Legion. Across the UK, teams are holding a minute of silence before their games and wearing special-edition shirts during the matches leading up to Remembrance weekend to commemorate the efforts of England’s veterans.

These poppy-embroidered shirts are being auctioned off throughout the months of November and December, with the proceeds being donated towards the honourable efforts of the Royal British Legion. The Legion relies solely on the solidarity of the public to be able to provide assistance to former and current military personnel and their families.

In the midst of its centenary, the Legion’s work is more important than ever, as their charitable efforts will support vulnerable communities who have experienced additional hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The support that the Legion provides to those in need is invaluable, which is why “every poppy counts” and every single contribution to the cause can have a positive impact on someone’s life!
