Coritiba setting the standard for sustainability in football!

Brazilian football club, Coritiba, is paving the way for social responsibility initiatives in football! “Coxa” are currently sitting on top of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B table and beside their noble efforts on the pitch, the team is also actively engaged in supporting important societal and environmental causes! Last week, Coritiba debuted their exclusive “Our green, even greener” shirts in a victory over league rivals Sampaio Corrêa.

Made from polyester and 100% recycled materials, the green uniforms are designed not as a tribute, but rather as a warning for the preservation of the Atlantic Forest Great Reserve, home to more than 2,000 animal species and 23,000 plants, many of which are not found anywhere else on Earth! Across the chest area of the shirts, we can see a graphic pattern in the shape of a forest, symbolising the natural beauty of the habitat they are trying to preserve. Moreover, the kits are produced in collaboration with the “1909” apparel group, which is why they feature the company’s logo under the original Coritiba emblem!
