Ligue 1 supports LGBTQ+

The LGBTQ+ community still faces hatred, prejudice, discrimination, and stigma all around the world to this day just because of their sexuality and who they are. May 17th marks the International day against homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia, raising awareness for the problems that the LGBTQ+ community faces daily.

League de Football Professionnel stands with the LGBTQ+ community and their inclusion in sports. Teams across Ligue 1 have once again proceeded with a fantatstic initiative that was first introduced in 2021. On the 14th and 15th May, the players from France’s first division wore shirts featuring special rainbow-coloured numbers, using the rainbow flag as a symbol of peace, diversity, and above all a symbol of the LGBTQ+ movement.

Similarly to last year, MatchWornShirt has joined forces with Ligue 1 Uber Eats to bring fans the opportunity of owning these special shirts from players such as Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, Guendouzi, Ui-Jo, and much more. The funds raised will be used to support of Ensemble, PanamBoyz & Girlz United, and SOS, to aid their fight against homophobia on all levels.
