Special Werder Bremen shirts for ‘Veganuary’

Football fans with a keen eye might have noticed that Bundesliga side Werder Bremen started off the new year with a fresh look. The badge of usual shirt sponsor ‘Wiesenhof’ was replaced by a GREEN LEGEND logo across the chest. Both brands are owned by the PHW group, which has been Werder’s main shirt sponsor since 2012. GREEN LEGEND is a new line of products introduced by the PHW Group back in October which aim to bring maximum taste from plant-based proteins. The products are a completely vegan alternative, but contain the full taste of the meat originals. The PHW Group decided to put the GREEN LEGEND logo on the kits for the occasion of ‘Veganuary’. ‘Veganuary’ is an international initiative that aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and tries to motivate people all around the globe to follow a plant-based diet in January. Through this partnership, the PHW group and Werder hope to increase awareness for the plant-based products and veganism in general.

The GREEN LEGEND brand fits perfectly with the green-white shirts that were worn by ‘die Werderaner’ for a total of six games throughout January, making these shirts very rare and special. This is why Werder Bremen and MatchWornShirt have teamed up to put the final set of the match worn shirts under the virtual hammer. The shirts that were worn and signed by Werder stars like Rashica, Bittencourt and Pavlenka, were from the 1-1 draw against Schalke 04 on the 30th January 2021. However, two players decided to give the fans a little bonus: Ludwig Augustinsson and Ilia Gruev did not only sign their own shirts, but also those of all their teammates.

All that put together, makes these shirts some of the most unique jerseys that have been put up on our website.  Interested? Place your bid here!
