Shirts Fighting Leukaemia

On the 17th of September, the match between Cercle Brugge and KV Oostende gave the fans a chance to own a worn and signed shirt from their favourite Cercle Brugge players. Despite being a great game, the real talking point for this auction is the foundation to which the proceeds will go: the Me To You Foundation. The foundation aims to prevent the propagation of leukaemia and related forms of bone marrow and blood diseases.

The foundation fights against leukaemia by contributing towards the most advanced and modern equipment, which is crucial to staying in the race to develop new forms of treatment and therapy. They also invest in infrastructure so that clinical research is carried out quickly and effectively.

This is the third collaboration between MatchWornShirt, Cercle Brugge and the Me To You Foundation. The last collaboration was centred around the mourning of the late goalkeeper and ambassador of the foundation, Miguel Van Damme, who passed away due to leukaemia on March 29th, 2022. To continue honouring Miguel’s contribution to the world of football and to continue the fight against Leukaemia, the club has decided to once again give fans the opportunity of playing their part in this initiative.

What makes these Cercle Brugge shirts so unique is the sponsor on the front. Eagle-eyed fans may have noticed the usual sponsor “Napoleon” made way to instead feature the “ME TO YOU” logo, clearly visible on the front of the shirt. Another special addition to the fundraising event is the signed shirt of Amy Sonck, daughter of the ex-footballer Wesley Sonck, and popular social media influencer. Other fan-favourites include Leonardo Da Silva, Charles Vanhoutte and scorer of the second goal Ayase Ueda.

MatchWornShirt is proud to support the fight against leukaemia. You can now show your support for the fight against leukaemia and be in with a chance of securing a unique piece of this special moment.
