Rangers F.C: The legend that keeps on giving!
In the world of football, reaching the highest level of competitive play is a dream shared by millions of sports fans globally. Making it among the sport’s elite is a task unattainable by many, whereas managing to consistently stay on top of your game and setting the bar for your competitors is close to impossible. We have seen teams like Real Madrid and Manchester United dictate the pace of European football for years, but even their achievements fade in comparison to the sheer dominance exemplified by Rangers FC in Scotland over the past decade!
The club was founded in 1872 under the name “Glasgow Argyle”, before eventually being renamed as Rangers at one of the first club meetings. Since its inception, the club has won over 50 Scottish Championships and more than 30 Scottish cups, making them the most successful team in the world in terms of domestic league titles won. Apart from their national accomplishments, the club has also shown their prowess on the International stage by winning the 1972 European Cup Winners’ cup title after defeating Dynamo Moscow 3-2 in the final!
Rangers had to fight their way back up the football hierarchy after being demoted after the 2011/2012 campaign, but since rejoining the Scottish Premiership in 2016, the team has looked sharper than ever. During the 2020/2021, under Steven Gerrard’s leadership, Rangers became only the second team in Scottish history to win the league without losing a single game! The historic run marked the beginning of a new era at Rangers FC - one that we couldn’t be more excited for!
The Scottish team is also a proud supporter of Poppyscotland and the Scottish Poppy Appeal. The club showed their commitment to the cause by wearing special, poppy-embroidered shirts during a match versus Ross County at the end of last year.
